Pig iron is the primary raw material used in the production of steel. It is produced in a blast furnace where iron ore, coke, and limestone are processed at high temperatures. During the smelting process, molten iron is tapped directly from the bottom of the blast furnace and then transferred to ladles or rail cars for delivery to steel producers. The name "pig iron" originates from the traditional casting process in which molten iron was poured into a series of molds arranged like piglets feeding from a sow. Once cooled, the solid iron pieces were broken apart from the main channel.
The Group is dedicated to developing strong capabilities in pig iron production by applying modern industrial technology and efficient operational practices. Continuous investment in advanced processes and improved production methods enables us to maintain product quality while meeting the growing demand of the steel industry.
